Forschungsinteressen

Rooted in a profound commitment to marine biodiversity conservation, my research explores the intersecting dimensions of marine ecology, socio-ecological resilience, and evidence-based policy. By investigating factors such as coral reef dynamics in the Coral Triangle, evaluating both the ecological and societal impacts of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and supporting the recognition of Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs)—I aim to develop actionable insights for sustainably managing marine ecosystems. I promote collaborative and inclusive scientific endeavors—particularly through co-designed research aimed at generating tangible, real-world impacts. I also enjoy conveying complex findings through engaging infographics, ensuring that scientific discoveries resonate with a broad global audience. By integrating interdisciplinary methods, community-based approaches, and effective science communication, my work ultimately strives to bridge knowledge gaps, inform best practices, and support decision-making that benefits both marine environments and the communities that depend on them.
