Our ZMT Newsletter features a double interview with ZMT scientific director Raimund Bleischwitz and Humboldt fellow Paul K. Botwe. Professor Bleischwitz talk about the problematic practice of beaching, when decommissioned ships are rammed up on beaches in tropical countries, and perspectives for green steel. Dr. Botwe, meanwhile, gives an insight into the work he is doing on environmental pollution through e-waste in Agbogbloshie (Ghana) and what management solutions can be found. We also report on a ZMT project that aims to make algae more palatable to school children and look at how fish and small organisms such as foraminifera deal with the uptake of micro- and nanoplastic.
