CAMPUS AWARD 2026/27: Nominations now open for Master’s theses or Dissertations on sustainability
Master’s theses and doctoral dissertations addressing sustainability can now be nominated for the CAMPUS PRIZE 2026/27. The award, worth a total of €3,000, recognizes outstanding research conducted at the University of Bremen that contributes to a sustainable future. Nominations are open until 27 November 2026.
The CAMPUS PRIZE: Research for a Sustainable Future is a joint initiative of the University of Bremen, the KELLNER & STOLL FOUNDATION FOR CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT, the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), and the Alumni Association of the University of Bremen.
The prize provides a platform for early-career researchers whose master’s theses or doctoral dissertations explore sustainability from a wide range of disciplinary perspectives.
Previous nominees demonstrate just how diverse sustainability research can be. Their work has addressed topics including the sustainable use of resources, environmental and nature conservation, climate and marine protection, adaptation to climate change, and technological solutions for meeting the 1.5°C climate target.
Other research has examined the socio-ecological, economic, and legal conditions required for a transformation towards sustainability, as well as innovative approaches to teaching and education.
Who can be nominated?
Nominations are invited for master’s theses and doctoral dissertations on sustainability topics that were completed and assessed at the University of Bremen after 31 August 2024.
Researchers, supervisors, and other members of the university community who know of suitable work are encouraged to submit nominations for the CAMPUS PRIZE 2026/27.
