Capacity development in the federal state of Bremen: Conference at the Bremische Landesvertretung in Berlin on February 11, 2019
The dynamics of today's world show that (further) education and training are fundamental prerequisites for stable development and sustainable use. Capacity development aims at strengthening and self-renewal of skills and abilities in order to ultimately achieve self-regenerative autonomy and eye-level in the academic, economic and administrative fields. It is thus the basis for strong international partnerships and for social stability.
Strengthening local capacities (capacity development) is gaining increasing importance in Germany's scientific landscape. Here the interests of science meet those of development cooperation and other departments.
On 11 February 2019, the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) is holding a conference on Capacity Development at the Vertretung des Landes Bremen beim Bund in Berlin.
Capacity development is a long-term task, which many institutions in the State of Bremen have consciously integrated in their activities. As part of our event, we would like to highlight the portfolio of capacity development in the state of Bremen. A selected number of institutions will provide an insight into various forms of capacity development and a panel consisting of alumni and science strategists will discuss further requirements.
The attached programme provides more details on the speakers, the panel discussion and the information booths of the institutions involved.
