23/02/2022 | From February 25 to July 31, 2022, the German Maritime Museum / Leibniz Institute fior Maritime History in Bremerhaven will present the special exhibition "Change Now". It is dedicated to the current debate about climate change, especially in the ocean.
The exhibition is being realized in cooperation with numerous international institutions. The ZMT is also participating with coral cores from the OASIS project on corals as climate archives.
"Change Now" is a contribution to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. The Decade aims to strengthen international cooperation and promote research and innovative technologies to connect marine science with the needs of society.
The exhibition spans a range of topics from sea level rise and species change to research shipping, which provides important insights into the ocean ecosystem.
To mark the opening of the exhibition, a press briefing will be held at the DSM on Thursday, February 24 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a tour. Dialogue partners on site will include Dr. Claudia Schilling, Senator for Science and Ports of the State of Bremen, and Prof. Dr. Ruth Schilling, Executive Director of the DSM.
