08/11/2022 | The nomination phase for the “CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a sustainable future” has been extended. Until December 16, final theses – master or dissertation – from the University of Bremen can be nominated for the award. The organisers, among them ZMT, are looking for theses dealing with topics of sustainable use of resources, protection of environment, climate, the oceans, or general questions in the context of sustainable development. One PhD thesis and one Master thesis each will be selected by the jury and honoured with the "CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a sustainable future" with a total of €3,000.
1. When is the time for nominations?
The period for nominations starts on September 27, 2022, and runs until December 16, 2022 midnight.
2. What are the nomination requirements for the thesis to be eligible?
Nominations can be submitted for theses that strengthen research in the context of sustainability with their distinctive approaches, methods, results, and practical relevance. The work must have been evaluated at the time of the nomination. The PhD or Master thesis must have been obtained in the last two years (graduation since August 31, 2020).
3. Who can nominate?
Eligible to submit a nomination for the CAMPUS AWARD are ALL teaching staff at the University of Bremen (professors, private tutors (PDs), lecturers, Postdocs, and others authorized to supervise PhD and Master theses) as well as scientific staff at an institution associated with the University according to § 96 of “Bremisches Hochschulgesetz”.
A direct application from the graduates is not possible.
We would like to point out that theses from all faculties can be nominated; sustainability is relevant for all researchers.
