25.10.17 | The Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and the German Maritime Museum (DSM) are organising the tenth KFT symposium on scientific diving. The conference will take place at the DSM and AWI in Bremerhaven on November 2 and 3, 2017.

The symposium is open to research divers, but also addresses scientists without diving experience who will be able to present their work, network and exchange information at the conference.

The following topics are the focus of the two-day event:

Session 1: International reciprocity in scientific diving

Session 2: Innovative methods in aquatic research related to scientific diving

Session 3: Capacity development - Forward-thinking implementation of German/European standards abroad

Session 4: Recent underwater research – Presentations of results by young scientists

Poster Presentation - Recent methods and procedures in scientific diving

ZMT’s Dr. Michael Schmid, head of the Scientific Diving Centre, reef ecologist Dr. Sebastian Ferse, research diver and technician Stefanie Bröhl, as well as scientist Dr. Karen von Juterzenka and postdoc Dr. Stefanie Helber will be among the speakers.
