17/10/2023 | The nomination period for the "CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a Sustainable Future" has started. Until November 20, Master and Doctoral Theses can be put forward with topics ranging from sustainable use of resources, protection of the environment and nature, climate, oceans, adaptation to climate change, technological responses to the challenges of meeting the 1.5-degree target, or the socio-ecological, economic, or legal conditions, or other topics in the context of sustainability. Works from from all disciplines can be nominated, as sustainability is relevant to all researchers. The "CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a Sustainable Future" is endowed with 3,000 euros

The most important formal parameters of the award:

1. When can nominations be made?

The period for nominations officially begins on October 16, 2023, and runs until midnight on November 20, 2023.

2. What are the requirements for the final theses?

Nominations can be made for theses with special approaches, methods, and results in the thematic field of sustainability. The thesis must have been graded at the time of nomination and the doctoral or master's degrees must have been completed at the University of Bremen within the last two years (degree completed after August 31, 2021).

3. Who can submit a nomination?

In principle, any academic staff member at the University of Bremen (professors, adjunct lecturers, lecturers, instructors, persons authorized to supervise master's theses and dissertations, postdocs) and the academic staff of institutions affiliated with the University pursuant to § 96 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Bremen are entitled to submit a nomination for the CAMPUS AWARD.

It is not possible for students to nominate themselves.

4. How can I submit a nomination?

The nomination form can be found on the German website https://campuspreis.de under "Bewerben" (Apply). The conditions of participation are also explained there.

The "CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a Sustainable Future" has been set up by the KELLNER & STOLL FOUNDATION FOR CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT, the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), the University of Bremen, and the University of Bremen Alumni Network.
