Bremen Doctoral Researcher Symposium on Marine Sciences 2025: Engage, Learn, and Network

On 8 and 9 April 2025, the Bremen Doctoral Researcher Symposium on Marine Sciences will take place jointly organised by the early career researcher support teams of MARUM – Center for Environmental Sciences and the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), alongside the doctoral researcher representatives of MARUM, the graduate School GLOMAR, and ZMT. The two-day symposium represents a unique opportunity for doctoral researchers to present their work, enhance their public speaking skills, and engage with peers across disciplines. The ZMT Academy, therefore, encourages doctoral researchers to prepare presentations accessible to an interdisciplinary audience. Participants will receive constructive feedback, and a prize will be awarded for the best presentation. We exclusively invite registrations from Doctoral Researchers officially affiliated to ZMT and / or MARUM / GLOMAR.

Present Your Work

Choose from the following presentation formats to share your research:

  • Talk: 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion
  • Poster: Showcase your research visually during dedicated poster sessions
  • Speed Talk: 5 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion (especially suitable for those in the first six months of their doctoral journey)

Costs Covered

Travel, accommodation, and meals will be covered for all active contributors by GLOMAR.
